Begin by contacting your local Area Agency on Aging (AAA). Every county in the U.S. has one, and they are designed to help older adults and caregivers navigate services, benefits, meal programs, transportation, and care coordination. For those living in the City of St. Louis, your AAA is the St. Louis Area Agency on Aging (SLAAA).

What they provide:
SLAAA offers home-delivered and congregate meals for adults 18–59 with a disability or 60+ living in the City of St. Louis. Meals meet 1/3 of the recommended daily allowance and are suitable for individuals with diabetes or heart disease. Nutrition supplements may be available for those at high nutritional risk. A staff member completes an eligibility visit before services begin. There is no charge, but voluntary contributions are welcome.

Senior centers supported by SLAAA also offer health screenings, exercise classes, computer classes, tax help, food pantries, benefits assistance, and educational programs.
